GREAT BRITISH PUB AWARDS


The award winning Durham Ox, Crayke is delighted to announce that it is a contender for Great British Pub at the Great British Pub Awards, sponsored by John Smith’s to take place on Thursday 7 September at the Hilton, Park Lane, London.
The Durham Ox has been selected from pubs all over the country and is now one of six finalists for both Best Inn and Best Food Pub in Great Britain. Additionally, Durham Ox chef, Oli Farrar is nominated for Best Chef. The overall winner for Great British Pub will be chosen from amongst the winners of the 17 categories and will be announced on the night.
These prestigious awards are recognised as “the one to win” by licensees and attract hundreds of entries from thriving pubs around the UK.
Owner Michael Ibbotson said “We celebrate 18 years as a family business in November and these kind of nominations are absolutely wonderful. We have a great team and we enjoy what we do. We are all still striving for excellence as much today as when we opened 18 years ago. North Yorkshire is a competitive area to be based. We have some great pubs and restaurants around us that keep us on our toes. It’s a tough industry to be in but we’re as passionate about this industry as ever.”
