Ivy Cottage - Self Catering
BOOK NOWIf you like the idea of being slightly more independent, yet only a stone's throw (literally!!) from The Durham Ox, Ivy Cottage is an ideal option for you. This three bedroom cottage sleeps up to six guests and is dog friendly.
Also....better still Ivy Cottage is a brilliant base for exploring: Within 15 - 30 minutes there are endless possibilities from historic York with endless possibilities to the pretty surrounding market towns with their weekly markets to world wide acclaimed historic houses & gardens such as Castle Howard; Beningbrough Hall, Nunnington Hall...and the ruins of Helmsley Castle, Rievaulx Abbey, Byland Abbey, Helmsley Walled Gardens, Newby Hall and so on and so forth... these are all places that are wonderful to while away time inside and out. Or how about a drive across the North York Moors and to the coast and a day trip to Whitby or Robin Hood's Bay?
But at the end of the day you'll be able to come home to Ivy Cottage: a home from home and with The Durham Ox just up the road if you can't be bothered to cook!

"Pretty much perfect. We arrived tired & full of cold in mid-January, just wanting really to flake out, but the setting, the fabulous Durham Ox up the road & the walks around the village cured us both of our colds & January Blues... A winter rest cure if ever there was one." Sawdays, 2018
