David Gold talks about the life of his mother and her family in Nazi Germany during the 1930s, prior to the their escape. David will talk about the effect it had on an ordinary Jewish family, such as his mother’s.
David discusses the steps the family had to take, in giving up everything and embarking on a totally uncertain future in a new and strange country, as well as examining the hundreds of anti-Jewish decrees and the bureaucratic steps employed by the Nazis to suppress families such as his own.
Finally he describes the way in which Great Britain accepted and embraced these refugees.
This will be a truly fascinating insight into Nazi Germany during the ’30s and one family’s escape and life thereafter.
We do hope you will be able to join us for this incredibly personal account of one of the darkest moments in our history.
