Coronavirus Vs. The Durham Ox
A Letter from the Ibbotsons – Temporary Closure
Dear Ox Friends,
Our world continues to change daily and it’s only been a matter of weeks since we closed our doors following the government measures to combat Covid19.
Trying to guess how long the Ox will be closed for is a tricky one. Originally, we were hopeful that it might be a question of “weeks” but now it appears three months is a much more likely scenario. This lines up with the employment support measures announced by the government.
In the meantime, we can answer any phone enquiries & emails, so do please contact us should you wish to discuss an existing or future booking. We are in the process of furloughing our staff on the government scheme – this has been a real life-line for us. I am so pleased we held our nerve in the first weeks and did not have to resort to redundancies.
So, while we #stayhomestaysafe why not keep in touch by following us on social media, or signing up to our eflyers, if you don’t already. We post daily updates whether sharing past speakers & businesses we have enjoyed and been inspired by at the Ox for our #durhamoxevents to photos of our beautiful surrounding countryside (the Howardian Hills just won The Times Best Places to Live 2020 for the North and North East), happy memories, future plans and anything else we think you might be interested in us sharing with you…from cocktail masterclasses to gardeners to interior designers….. You will find a link to all our social media channels and to sign up to our newsletters at the bottom of our Home Page.
For those of you who have asked how you can help….well if you would like to buy a gift, then please think about giving Durham Ox vouchers or a bottle of our Ox Gin….click here: The Ox Shop. Or how about organising yourself a night away or a meal for later in the year.
Please take care and we will look forward to welcoming you all again very soon to The Durham Ox.
With our very best wishes to you all,
Michael, Sasha & the Ibbotson family and
